At a program organized to discuss the achievements made in the first six months of the current fiscal year, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah, urged departmental chiefs to conduct activities with high morale.

Mayor Shah directed all departmental chiefs to streamline service delivery and smooth operations. He emphasized the need to take punitive measures against wrongdoers while encouraging and supporting those who perform well. He stressed that mistakes made with good intentions should not be overly criticized.

Mayor Shah highlighted a decrease in complaints received by the KMC compared to the previous year, indicating signs of improvement.

He attributed this progress to the experience and capacity of long-serving employees.Additionally, he mentioned the implementation of the ‘Mahanagar Gaurav and Swarnim Yojana’ to prioritize important programs.Furthermore, Mayor Shah advised KMC employees to minimize visits, seminars, and workshops, urging them to focus on meeting annual targets.

He emphasized the necessity of employee engagement to achieve these objectives.Deputy-Mayor Sunita Dangol, Chief Administrative Officer Pradeep Pariyar, and Vice-Chairperson of the Urban Development Commission, Dr. Suman Narsingh Rajbhandari, were also in attendance. Departmental chiefs provided updates on the progress achieved thus far.
