KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has approved the election schedule for the by-elections in State 1 constituency number 2 of Ilam district and State 7 constituency number 1 of Bajhang district.

According to the approved election schedule, the voter list update program will be conducted from Falgun 16, 2080 and the final voter list will be published on Chaitra 22, 2080.

Political parties wishing to participate in the by-elections can register from Falgun 24 to 30, 2080, within the given deadline.

As per the approved schedule, the main election officer will be appointed and the election office will be established on Chaitra 22, 2080, and the election program will be conducted at the election office from Chaitra 24 to 27, 2080.

Candidate nominations will be registered from Chaitra 24 to Falgun 27, 2080, and the final list of candidates will be published on Chaitra 27, 2080, along with the distribution of election symbols, as informed by Assistant Spokesperson Deputy Secretary Dr. Thaneshwor Bhusal.

Furthermore, the publicity period will run from Chaitra 28, 2080, to Baishkh 12, 2081. The voting will take place from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the respective polling centers on Baishak 15, 2081.
