RASUWA: The annual Gosainkunda fair in Rasuwa begins today on the occasion of Ekadashi, drawing pilgrims from across the country and beyond.

According to the Gosainkunda Area Development Committee, the fair will continue until Ekadashi on June 7. Devotees have already started arriving to participate in the event, which is expected to attract around 5,000 visitors. Many will take a holy dip in the sacred Gosainkunda pond, located at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level.

Pilgrims typically reach Gosainkunda from Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa, following a route through Tiwari Bagar, Khanti, Deurali, Dimsa, and Cholangpati.

Nepal Police reported that more than 250 devotees associated with the Patanjali Yoga Committee, who had gathered for the Ganga Dussehra festival, departed for Gosainkunda earlier this morning.

Gosainkunda is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for Hindus, believed to be a destination that should be visited at least once in a lifetime. A special fair is held here for 10 days during Ganga Dussehra and five days during Janai Poornima.
