Niroj Tolange, Kathmandu: The central president of the National Churches Fellowship of Nepal, the only large umbrella organization of Nepali Christians, and senior pastor of the Aradhana Church, Hanok Tamang, has said that the responsibility of the Nepali church is now focused on the young generation.
Addressing the convocation ceremony of Nepal Ebenezer Theological Seminary, President Pastor Tamang said that since the youth are the foundation of the epochal change of the nation, the Nepali Christian community, the church and society are rapidly growing in the perfection of Christ, and the Nepali church needs the emerging young generation to bring maturity in theological education to expand the kingdom of God.
False education has now entered the Nepali Christian community, therefore, he emphasized that the Nepali church needs young manpower who have received theological education to root the Nepali church in the word of God and guide it in correct education. Similarly, NCFN General Secretary Pastor Sher Bahadur AC encouraged the graduated students not to lose their mission, vision, and enthusiasm for ministry.
He urged the Nepali church to give space to the youth in ministry, emphasizing that youth are not a burden on any church but an asset to the Nepali church.
At the convocation ceremony, 30 people graduated from the seminary for the January and June batches of Bachelor of Theology (B.T.H. 2022) and Master of Divinity 2022.
Nepal Ebenezer Bible College (currently Nepal Ebenezer Theological Seminary, 2022), which was started in 1992 as a service of the Nepal National Church Association, was established in view of the need for theologically trained ministers for the rapidly growing churches in Nepal. So far, 500 people have graduated from the seminary.
This seminary, which is under the guardianship of the National Churches Fellowship of Nepal, has obtained affiliation from the Asia Theological Association. Since its inception, it has been providing balanced biblical education with practical application, keeping in mind the service of the entire gospel-believing churches of Nepal. Therefore, although various Bible institutes are currently serving in Nepal, its special vision and mission make NETS’ service in Nepal a unique specialty.
Firstly, its identity is to embrace all denominations and accept the basic Christian faith and accommodate students, teachers and employees of all denominations
Secondly, this is not an individual initiative, but it has been fulfilling the collective vision given by God to build a Christ-like church, especially for the entire Nepali nation, equipping both men and women, the people of God.
Located in Jorpati, Besigaun, Gokarneshwor Ward No. 6, Kathmandu, this seminary has its own building, equipped with state-of-the-art services and facilities, where it is a very suitable educational place for those who come from far away to study theology. Where for the development of self-reliant youth, it has also been providing electrical first-level vocational training recognized by CTEVT for graduate students.
