KATHMANDU: Two people have lost their lives during the pro-monarchy protest led by Durga Prasai and Nawaraj Subedi in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

Sabin Maharjan, 29, of Kirtipur Municipality-4 Gamcha, lost his life in a clash with the police during a demonstration in the name of the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens’ Protection Campaign at the square in Tinkune.
According to the police, he was shot in the chest during the clash. After being shot, he collapsed and was taken to the emergency room of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for treatment at 3:55 pm.

However, the doctors declared him dead at 4 pm. His body has now been kept at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital’s postmortem room for a postmortem.

Similarly, a journalist died after being burnt to death in a house in Tinkune, Kathmandu, which was set on fire by royalists.

It has been revealed that Suresh Rajak, he was working as a cameraman for Avenues Television, was among those who died after being burned alive in the building that was set on fire by royalists during a violent protest, accusing them of being police officers.  However, the police have not officially released his details.

Rajak’s body was found burnt to death after the building was set on fire. However, his body, which was burnt to death, was found in an unrecognizable condition.

The police are currently investigating the incident and taking a statement. The Marble House located in the Tinkune area was set on fire after a clash with the police. Earlier, royalists had thrown stones at the house and broken all the glass.
