In a sudden move, the CK Raut-led Janamat Party has officially withdrawn its support from the Madhesh government, prompting the recall of its two provincial ministers. The decision, announced after a parliamentary party meeting, cited unilateral actions by the chief minister, who allegedly hindered the party’s efforts to fulfill promises made to the people.

The party, a coalition member, expressed frustration with the chief minister’s approach and the inability to deliver on commitments. This decision follows a recent clash between supporters of the Janata Samajbadi Party and Janamat Party during a university foundation-laying event in Saptari.

Despite the withdrawal, the Madhesh government retains majority support from Nepali Congress, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, CPN (Maoist Centre), and CPN (Unified Socialist). The provincial assembly, with 107 seats, still maintains stability with Congress holding 22 seats, Janata Samajbadi with 18, and additional support from other parties.
