KATHMANDU: Dr. Chandrakant Raut, the Chair of the Janamat Party, emphasized that the need for personal identity will never diminish.
Speaking at the launch event of his autobiography, “From Renunciation to Protection,” in Kathmandu on Friday, Raut asserted that globalisation does not erase the need for identity; rather, it increases its significance.
He criticized the tendency to hesitate in identifying Madhesis as Nepalese while simultaneously denying them a distinct identity.
Raut argued that even in a globalized world, when traveling to any country, identity remains a fundamental requirement.
He further stated that human identity will not disappear simply because humans have reached the Moon or Mars.
