After 4 decades of road digging, a bridge (Bailey Bridge) has been constructed in Khanianbas rural municipality-4 Kintangfedi of Dhading. The bridge constructed on the Kintang River is on the Daman-Pakhrin road, which is considered as the lifeline of North Dhading which has started to allow vehicles to cross.
Federal MP Ram Nath Adhikari and Nepali Army Chief of Staff Prabhuram Sharma jointly inaugurated the bridge, which will directly benefit three villages of North Dhading. The bridge is 42.67 meters long and 4.2 meters wide.
The construction of the bridge was completed with the technical support of the Nepali Army. During the rainy season, the residents of North Dhading were unable to cross the river when the water rose, so it was difficult for them to carry their daily necessities from the headquarters. When he got sick, he had to take the help of a helicopter. They are now freed from that obligation. An MP official said that two more bridges have been requested to connect North Dhading.
This bridge has been constructed at a total cost of 10 million rupees. Ran Bahadur Tamang, Chairman of Khanianbas Rural Municipality, said that the cost of the bridge construction was initially supported by Khanianbas Rural Municipality and later by Nuwakot’s Kispang Rural Municipality, Gangajmuna Rural Municipality and Netrawati Dabjong Rural Municipality.
He said that since this is the main road connecting the northern part of Dhading to the headquarters in Dhadingbensi, the construction of the bridge will make people’s lives easier and the agricultural products produced can be taken to the market.
Almost four decades after the opening of the track, the locals of the northern region are happy that the bridge has been constructed. “After the construction of the bridge, we feel like the door of our house has been opened”, said Prakash Tamang, a local. Agricultural produce in the village rotted every year. Now, carrying the agricultural products to the market in vehicles and selling them, running household expenses, and celebrating festivals will be completed.”
The Belly Bridge owned by Trishuli 3A and 3B of Nepal Electricity Authority was brought from Betravati and connected to Kintangfedi. With the laying of the foundation stone on October 12th, the construction of the bridge was completed with the technical support of the 14th Bahini Adda of the Nepali Army.
