The meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists has requested the government to bring the bill related to the media only after extensive discussion with the concerned parties.

Today, the meeting of the available officials and members of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists Central Committee discussed various issues and made decisions.

The meeting was chaired by Acting Chairman Ramesh Bista. According to the notification issued by the Central Secretary of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Gobinda Prasad Chaulagain, the meeting has decided to convene the meeting of the Central Committee as soon as possible while proceeding with the necessary preparations to complete the 27th Convention of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists.

The meeting has decided to proceed with the necessary preparations for the purpose of the convention including the membership and the sessions of the branches, chapters, associates and provincial committees, as stated in the notification issued by Secretary Chaulagain. The Nepal government has prepared to present the communication bills in the current session of the parliament, and the federation has received serious attention.

It is said that the Federation of Journalists requests the government to advance the communication related bills based on the constitution of Nepal, the global recognition of freedom of press and expression and our practices. It has been demanded that the bills should be taken to the parliamentary process after extensive discussion and consultation with the concerned parties including the federation.

In the current situation where the entire communication sector is in a serious crisis, by adopting a policy to protect the communication sector, taking into account the fact that the self-employed media is facing more crisis, the Federation demands the increase of public welfare advertisements, the distribution of proportionate advertisements, the creation of a communication-friendly environment and the distribution of public welfare advertisements by classifying new media. .
