KATHMANDU: Today, the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) issued an international call for tenders to lease two narrow-body aircraft.
According to the corporation, the decision to lease the aircraft is aimed at strengthening the country’s presence in tourism promotion and providing services to foreign tourists.
The corporation emphasized the need to lease the aircraft to address the demands of both domestic and international routes.
“The corporation’s current plan involves utilizing two wide-body aircraft on flights to Japan, Sydney, and South Korea. With these flights unable to accommodate additional passengers, the decision to lease aircraft has been made. This will facilitate flights to destinations like Delhi, Dubai, Doha, and Malaysia,” stated the corporation in a released statement.
The corporation also plans to increase its revenue and expand its market based on a ten-year commercial plan, under the special direction of Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudhan Kirati, and Executive Chairman of the corporation, Yuvaraj Adhikari.
“The expectation is that these aircraft will join the corporation’s fleet for scheduled flights by July,” added the corporation.
