Niroj Tolange/Kathmandu-The World Health Organization (WHO) is sending essential medicines and health equipment to those affected by the floods that hit the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa this morning.
After talking to Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta, the Ministry of Health has stated that the WHO is sending basic medicines and health equipment to meet the needs of 1,000 people.
It is also stated that 15 emergency tents of 24 square meters are also being sent to the affected areas.
According to the ministry, 100 emergency beds have been allocated for the flood victims at Bir Hospital and Trauma Center in Kathmandu. So far, the ministry has also stated that three injured people have been rescued and brought to Kathmandu.
The ministry has stated that coordination is being done with the Federal Hospital in Kathmandu, Blood Transfusion Center, the Ministries of Health of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, Nepal Red Cross, Lions and Nepal Scouts for emergency health services.
Preparations are underway to send some doctors and health workers to the affected areas through Nepal Red Cross and Nepal Scouts. The ministry has said that six doctors and two nurses working at the trauma center have been sent to the affected area. Similarly, the ministry said that an ambulance with necessary health equipment has also left for the affected area.
According to the ministry, cooperation is also being done with the health post in Dhunche, Rasuwa and Rasuwa Hospital. The ministry has stated that 1115 can be contacted for emergency health assistance, information and coordination.
