KATHMANDU: Police said 47 foreign women have been deported from Nepal for allegedly engaging in prostitution.
The District Police Range, Kathmandu, disclosed the information during a press conference on Friday.
Speaking at the briefing, Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Kumar Bhattarai said 57 foreign women were detained during a special operation in tourist areas, including Thamel and Durbar Marg, on suspicion of involvement in prostitution.
Of those detained, 47 have been deported through the Department of Immigration, while investigations into the remaining 10 are ongoing, he said.
