KATHMANDU: Students have staged a protest in Kathmandu expressing dissatisfaction over the recently published Class 12 examination results, alleging errors in evaluation and lack of effective mechanisms for re-totaling and re-evaluation.

The demonstration was held on Thursday at Maitighar Mandala, where students demanded accountability over what they described as flaws in the result publication and assessment process.

The protest was led by students, including Ranjit Karki, Sahil Rijal, Diwas Shrestha, Smriti Khatiwada, Anshu Pant and Saheb Sah, among others.

Participants carried placards reading slogans such as “Who is responsible for wasting 12 years of effort?”, “Our future has been ruined,” and “Where do we go to seek justice?”

Students argued that errors may have occurred in the rush to publish results quickly, directly impacting their academic future.

They have demanded an independent investigation, free re-totaling, re-evaluation of answer sheets, and greater transparency in the examination evaluation process.

The students said the issue is not just about marks but about the future of thousands of learners across the country, warning that further protest programmes will be announced if their demands are not addressed.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has stated that there were no errors in the publication of the Class 12 results.
