KATHMANDU: The newly appointed ministers of the Balendra Shah-led government have taken their oath of office at a ceremony held at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas. President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath to the ministers.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) had also taken his oath. The ceremony included Batuk offering a blessing and Lama delivering a prayer for prosperity.

Key ministers and their portfolios:

  • Balendra Shah – Prime Minister; also overseeing Defense and Industry ministries
  • Swarnim Wagle – Finance Minister (second rank)
  • Sudhan Gurung – Home Minister (third rank)
  • Shishir Khanal – Foreign Minister
  • Sunil Lamsal – Physical Infrastructure, Transport, and Urban Development Minister
  • Virajbhakta Shrestha – Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Minister
  • Khadkaraj Paudel (Ganesh) – Tourism Minister
  • Sasmita Pokharel – Education, Science, Technology, Youth, and Sports Minister
  • Nisha Mehta – Health and Population Minister
  • Bikram Timilsina – Communication Minister
  • Pratibha Rawal – General Administration Minister
  • Deepak Sah (Mahottari) – Labor and Employment Minister
  • Sobita Gautam – Law Minister
