KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has officially unveiled the timetable for the upcoming House of Representatives election, scheduled for March 5, 2026.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Commission said the approved schedule details all major election activities — from political party registration and candidate nomination to vote counting — to be conducted in a phased and systematic manner.

The Commission emphasized its commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and transparent election through timely preparations, effective logistics, and coordination among all stakeholders.

According to the official calendar, election offices for the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system will begin operation from January 15, 2026.

The campaign period will run from February 15–March 2, after which a mandatory silence period will precede polling day.

Voting will be held nationwide on March 5, 2026 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., the Commission confirmed.
