KATHMANDU: The Forensic Department of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, has completed postmortem examinations on 28 bodies so far.

A total of 46 bodies have been brought for autopsy following the recent Gen Z protests in which several people lost their lives.

23 bodies have already been handed over to their families, while seven remain unidentified.

DNA testing will be required for identification, in addition to dental examinations and fingerprint analysis.

Most of the victims had sustained gunshot wounds, burn injuries, and blood trauma.

Meanwhile, newly appointed Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Physical Infrastructure and Transport; and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, visited the Teaching Hospital to meet with families of the deceased and the injured.

The hospital is currently treating 22 people injured during the Gen Z protests.
