KATHMANDU: The government has made public 25 decisions from the Cabinet meeting held on August 18.
The announcements were shared by government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.
Among the decisions, two carry significant public interest. The Cabinet approved a concessional loan of Rs 3.08 billion from the Government of Japan to ease traffic congestion at Koteshwor junction, one of the busiest points along Kathmandu’s inner ring road.
Similarly, the Cabinet dismissed Sharad Ojha from his post as Chairperson of the Nepal Insurance Authority. Ojha had been suspended earlier following accusations of securing the position through forged documents under the influence of vested groups.
The Cabinet decision cited misconduct, lack of competence, and failure to fulfill official responsibilities as reasons for his removal.
