DADELDHURA- The community radio Afno FM Dadeldhura ,operated by Human Development and Community Service in Dadeldhura district has completed 17 years since its establishment.
On the occasion of its 18th anniversary, the radio station distributed sports equipment to Bhairav Primary School, located in Ward No. 1 of Nawadurga Rural Municipality, Sunkot.T
he sports items included madals (traditional Nepali drums), footballs, volleyballs, air pumps, rings, skipping ropes, Ludo games, and cube puzzles. Additionally, the station provided six sets of school tracksuits to six underprivileged students studying at the same school.
The program, held in the school premises, was attended by the chairperson of ward no 1, heads of local police, parents, schoolteachers, and students.
While handing over the sports materials to the school, the coordinator of the radio station, Mr. Vijay Manandhar, shared that the radio has been actively engaged in community service in various ways each year.
Immediately following the distribution of sports equipment, solar radios and relief items such as rice, lentils, sugar, salt, oil, and other food supplies were also distributed to some elderly citizens, underprivileged individuals, and single women among the radio listeners.
Relief materials and radios were distributed to a total of 32 individuals, including underprivileged people, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, orphaned students, and single women.
Afno FM has been continuously operating in Dadeldhura district since 32 Jestha 2065 (June 14, 2008).
