Baishakh 4, Kathmandu. A silent demonstration was held on Thursday demanding the formation of a judicial commission for an impartial investigation into the death of Avenues Television journalist Suresh Rajak.
Socialist Press Organization Nepal held a silent demonstration for an hour at Shanti Batika in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The members of the organization, who held a silent demonstration with placards, have made demands such as declaring Rajak a martyr, providing proper compensation to Rajak’s family, and forming an impartial commission to find out the cause of death.
‘If journalist Suresh Rajak had been alive, many things would have come out about the culprits of the Tinkune incident. He was murdered in a planned manner due to that fear. We demand that the government form a high-level judicial investigation commission to investigate the mysterious murder that took place without completing the investigation procedures and protect the journalist,’ said Shambhu Shrestha, president of Socialist Press Organization Nepal.
The organization’s president, Shrestha, said that they will continue to plan further agitations until the state ensures justice by forming an impartial investigation committee into the murder of journalist Rajak.
The late journalist Rajak lost his life in Tinkune, Kathmandu, on Chaitra 15 while covering news of the royalist movement.
