KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has underscored the importance of positive thinking, constructive behavior, and self-confidence as key components in realizing the collective goal of a prosperous and content nation.

Extending his greetings on the occasion of New Year 2082, Prime Minister Oli expressed his hopes for happiness, peace, prosperity, progress, success, and renewed enthusiasm in the lives of all Nepalis—both at home and abroad. He voiced optimism that, despite past hardships, the nation is on a steady path toward a brighter and more promising future.

In his New Year message, PM Oli remarked, “The government alone cannot fulfill the nation’s collective aspirations. Lasting success requires the unity, hard work, and contributions of Nepalis everywhere.”

He emphasized that Nepal’s ethnic, regional, cultural, and religious diversity should be seen as national strengths, not sources of division, and called for their development as unifying forces.

PM Oli stated that development is no longer an aspiration but a growing reality, with infrastructure projects in rural areas, visible improvements in people’s daily lives, and reforms in social services standing as proof of progress under the democratic system.

Highlighting the vital role of youth in nation-building, he said the government is actively working to empower them through entrepreneurship, education, technology, and self-employment opportunities—aiming to channel their energy and creativity for the country’s advancement.

He urged citizens to go beyond merely recognizing the achievements of democracy, and to embrace and build upon them. Calling for an end to negativity and divisiveness, the Prime Minister encouraged unity, patriotism, and a shared determination to guide the country toward continued progress.
