NA Peacekeepers leave for South Sudan

KATHMANDU: Two hundred and eleven personnel of the Chandi Prasad Bttalion of Nepali Army (NA) have left for South Sudan last night.

The NA squad assigned to peacekeeping in South Sudan under the call of the United Nations left for Juba, the capital of South Sudan last night. The team is led by Major Milan Acharya.

The Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepali Army said today that the team headed by Major Milan Acharya has left for the deputed site.

Prior to this, a 213-member Aridaman Battalion, led by Major General Maheshwar Silwal, that was in the same responsibility arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday.

At present, there are 1,756 peacekeepers from the Nepali Army in South Sudan, including sector commanders, military observers, staff officers from two battalions and one company. https://nepalnews.com/s/security/na-peacekeepers-leave-for-south-sudan/
