KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers has decided to table the bill made to amend the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act, 2064 in the Federal Parliament.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on February 18 took this decision, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Spokesperson of Government of Nepal Prithvi Subba Gurung said at a news conference organized at the Ministry on Thursday.

The cabinet meeting has formed a high-level taskforce under the leadership of a secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to implement the recommendations of the Public Expenditure Review Commission, 2075; High-Level Economic Reforms Recommendations Commission, 2081 and Study Report on Merger, Liquidation and Handover of Institutions of the Government, 2081.

Likewise, the government has appointed Arjun Babu Dhakal as the General Manager of Nepal Drinking Water Corporation.

Similarly, resignation tendered by the AIG of Nepal Police Rabindra KC was approved and visit of Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba to High-Level Segment of 58th Regular Session of the UN Human Rights Council to take place in Geneva of Switzerland from February 24-26 was approved, Minister Gurung said.

Similarly, a decision was made to provide government-owned land to the Mayadevi Rural Municipality in Rupandehi for the construction of a Maternity House, Health Post, Ward Office and Ayurved Hospital.

Likewise, government-owned land plots were allowed to use to District Police Office, Rukum Purva, and to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security for the building construction of Multipurpose Polytechnic Institute.

The cabinet meeting also approved the MoU on exchange of assistance in the area of tourism between the Government of Nepal and Government of Oman.

Additionally, the meeting has decided to approve the agreement between Nepal and the USA to impose ban on the transportation and import of archeological and community artifacts.

Likewise, the visits of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey were approved to Germany for his participation to the International Tourism Board (ITB Berlin)-2025 and to the 75th Annapurna Day to be held in France.

The cabinet meeting has also decided to publish the public holidays for the year 2082 BS in the Nepal Gazette.
