BIRATNAGAR: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has pledged to prevent industries from shutting down and the country from facing economic collapse.
Speaking at a press meet on Monday evening at Hotel Harrison in Biratnagar, Oli addressed questions from journalists regarding the delay in implementing the government’s directive to the Nepal Electricity Authority. He assured that the directive would be implemented soon.
Oli emphasized that industries must not be allowed to close for any reason. He also confirmed that after a year and eight months, Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba would become the next prime minister and that his government would hold elections, which would determine the country’s leadership.
In addition, Oli stated that provinces should focus on development and good governance rather than demanding more powers.
On a different matter, Prime Minister Oli clarified that there were no discussions on the SPP agreement, dismissing accusations by the Maoists as mere government frustration.
