Paris Olympics conclude: USA & China tie for gold, Japan secures 3rd place (with list)

Out of 205 participating nations, including the Refugee Team, 63 countries won gold medals, and a total of 91 countries secured medals.

KATHMANDU: 91 countries have won medals in the Paris Olympics. Out of 205 participating nations, including the Refugee Team, 63 countries won gold medals, and a total of 91 countries secured medals.

In the medal tally, the United States topped the chart with 40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze medals. Following closely, China secured second place with 40 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze medals.

Japan ranked third with 20 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze medals. Australia claimed the fourth spot with 18 gold, 19 silver, and 16 bronze medals. The host nation, France, secured the fifth position with 16 gold, 26 silver, and 22 bronze medals.

The Netherlands ranked sixth with 15 gold, 7 silver, and 12 bronze medals, while Great Britain came in seventh with 14 gold, 22 silver, and 29 bronze medals. South Korea secured 13 gold, 9 silver, and 10 bronze medals, followed by Italy with 12 gold, 13 silver, and 15 bronze medals.

Germany also won 12 gold, 13 silver, and 8 bronze medals. New Zealand earned 10 gold, 7 silver, and 3 bronze medals. Canada won 9 gold, 7 silver, and 11 bronze medals, while Uzbekistan claimed 8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

Hungary secured 6 gold, 7 silver, and 6 bronze medals, while Spain won 5 gold, 4 silver, and 9 bronze medals. Sweden, Kenya, Norway, and Ireland each won 4 gold medals.

Brazil, Iran, Ukraine, Romania, Georgia, Belgium, Serbia, and the Czech Republic all secured 3 gold medals each. Denmark, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Cuba, Bahrain, Slovenia, Chinese Taipei, Austria, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Algeria, and Indonesia won 2 gold medals each.

Israel, Poland, Kazakhstan, Jamaica, South Africa, Thailand, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Ecuador, Portugal, Greece, Argentina, Egypt, Tunisia, Botswana, Chile, Saint Lucia, Uganda, Guatemala, Morocco, Dominica, and Pakistan each won one gold medal.

Meanwhile, Turkey, Mexico, Armenia, Colombia, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Lithuania, Kosovo, Cyprus, Fiji, Jordan, Mongolia, Panama, Tajikistan, Albania, Grenada, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, Cabo Verde, the Refugee Olympic Team, Peru, Qatar, Singapore, Slovakia, and Zambia all secured medals at the Paris Olympics.
