KATHMANDU: Since June 10, a total of 170 people have lost their lives due to flooding and landslides caused by continuous rainfall across various regions of the country.

The fatalities are distributed as follows: three in the Kathmandu Valley, 25 in Koshi State, six in Madhesh State, 31 in Bagmati State, 54 in Gandaki State, 33 in Lumbini State, eight in Karnali State, and 10 in Sudurpaschim State.

Additionally, 203 individuals have been injured in these disaster incidents.

The breakdown of injuries is: 11 in the Kathmandu Valley, 37 in Koshi State, 10 in Madhesh State, 19 in Bagmati State, 46 in Gandaki State, 13 in Lumbini State, 53 in Karnali State, and 14 in Sudurpaschim State.

There are currently 48 people reported missing as a result of these disasters. The missing persons include two from Koshi State, 41 from Bagmati State, two from Gandaki State, and one each from Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim States.

The Police Headquarters has announced that efforts to locate the missing individuals are ongoing.
