KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed grief over the accident of Air Dynasty’s helicopter in Nuwakot today.

PM Oli, who was in a pre-arranged meeting with officials of the Valley Mayors’ Forum at Singha Durbar, cut short the meeting with the mayors after hearing the news of the helicopter accident.

It is sad that another air accident happened after 14 days, said PM Oli.

The accident involved an Air Dynasty helicopter, registered as 9N-AJD, which was en route from Kathmandu to Syaprubesi in Rasuwa.

The helicopter took off from Kathmandu at 1:54 PM but lost contact with air traffic control just three minutes later. The crash is believed to have occurred around 2:20 PM.

The victims have been identified as Judad Tang, Ji Li, Yiad Wu, and Zeming Si, all Chinese nationals, along with Captain Arun Malla, the Nepali pilot.

Chief District Officer Ramkrishna Adhikari confirmed that the remains will be sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, for autopsy.

Previously, a Saurya Airlines plane crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), killing 18 out of 19 passengers on board.
