KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), has been appointed as the Prime Minister.
Kiran Pokharel, President’s Press Adviser, informed that President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed Chairman Oli as the Prime Minister today in accordance with Article 76, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal. With the support of Nepali Congress, the largest party in the House of Representatives, UML Chairman Oli has been appointed as the Prime Minister.
Immediately after the President called for submitting the claim, Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba and UML Chairman Oli submitted a claim for the appointment of Chairman Oli as the Prime Minister with the signature of the majority members of the Parliament as party leaders.
Prime Minister Oli’s oath will be taken at 11 am on Monday, according to the President’s Office.
