KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has prepared a draft of the fourth strategic plan – 2081/82 after reviewing the strategic plan so far during the election management.

The Commission has invited public suggestions on this draft through public notice.

Since the fiscal year 2065/66, the Commission has been implementing five-year plans to strengthen and fortify itself based on Nepal’s constitution, election management laws, and international standards for fair, independent, impartial, inclusive, and credible elections. Currently, the third strategic plan is in operation.

Based on experiences gained from implementing previous strategic plans, discussions, analyses, reviews, and feedback received from political parties and stakeholders at various times, the Commission’s spokesperson Raghuram Bishal provided this information.

The Commission has urged the public to provide suggestions to further enhance this draft by reaching the Commission’s secretariat by July 22.
