KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the federal democratic republic system has guaranteed comprehensive political rights in the nation.

In his message on the occasion of Republic Day today, President Paudel highlighted this moment as an opportunity for unity and progress towards a prosperous future, congratulating all Nepalis on this historic and proud occasion.

He said, “Seventeen years ago, we achieved the republican system and freedom. On this day, Nepalis attained civilian supremacy and laid the groundwork for a liberal, inclusive, proportional Democratic Republic of Nepal with social justice.”

President Paudel also expressed deep condolences to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this significant transformation and extended profound respect to senior leaders for their dedication and sacrifices in the quest for the republican system.

He emphasized that this day serves as a reminder for everyone to work towards fulfilling the commitments made to empower citizens within the framework of democratic cultures.

The President stressed that the primary goal of the republic is to improve people’s living standards, advocating for increased production, fair distribution, employment promotion, and good governance.
