KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party demanding a parliamentary probe committee to investigate Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative fraud case, has mobilized representatives across all 15 constituencies in the Kathmandu Valley in preparation for a protest starting Sunday.

The NC has assigned central committee member Abdul Satar to Kathmandu-1, Sita Thapaliya to Kathmandu-2, Rangamati Shahi to Kathmandu-3, Kundan Kafle to Kathmandu-4, Naina Singh Mahar to Kathmandu-5, and Guru Baral to Kathmandu-6. Additionally, Angelu Sherpa has been assigned to Kathmandu-7, Umesh Jung Rayamaji to Kathmandu-8, Dr. Dila Sangraula to Kathmandu-9, and Sarita Prasai to Kathmandu-10.

In Lalitpur, Umakanta Chaudhary has been mobilized in Lalitpur-1, Devendra Raj Kandel in Lalitpur-2, and Arjun Joshi in Lalitpur-3.

In Bhaktapur, Indra Baniya has been assigned to Bhaktapur-1 and Ganesh Lama to Bhaktapur-2.

A meeting of the central committee and parliamentary party held on Wednesday decided to commence street protests against the government starting Sunday.
