KATHMANDU: The National Vigilance Centre (NVC) conducted a surprise visit at four ministries in the Singha Durbar premises, which found 16 employees absent while 78 coming late in the offices.

The NVC conducted a monitoring of the employees at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; Ministry of Home Affairs; Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply; and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The employees were monitored whether they adhered to the dress code and followed office time.

Information officer at NVC, Hari Prasad Sharma, informed that seven employees were absent at Education Ministry while nine at Home Ministry. Total 74 employees turned up late in their offices.

Among them, seven are from Education Ministry, 34 from Home Ministry, two from Ministry of Industry and 10 from Foreign Ministry.

The NVC further informed that sizable numbers of government employees were violating dress code. The monitoring team also found no help desk at Education Ministry.

Disabled-friendly workplace, waiting places, and hygienic canteen were also the issues to which the team showed concern.
