KATHMANDU: The eagerly awaited government policy and programme for the upcoming fiscal year will be unveiled at a joint session of the federal parliament on Tuesday.

President Ramchandra Paudel is scheduled to address the joint gathering of the federal parliament at 3:00 pm on Tuesday to announce the government’s policy and programme for the fiscal year 2081/082 BS.

Dasharath Dhamala, Assistant Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, confirmed that all necessary arrangements for the joint meeting have been finalized.

Invitations have been extended to Vice President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, and other esteemed dignitaries to attend the joint session of the House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly.

Meanwhile, addressing the anticipation surrounding the policy and programme, Nepali Congress lawmaker Ramnath Adhikari emphasized the importance of addressing issues such as people’s livelihoods, youth outmigration, and rural underdevelopment in the government’s agenda.

Similarly, Rana Kumari Balampaki of CPN (UML) stressed the need for the government to prioritize programs aimed at fostering employment opportunities within the country.

Echoing similar sentiments, CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Tshiring Damdul Lama emphasized the importance of prioritizing the concerns of peasants and laborers, while also advocating for self-reliance in agriculture to bolster the nation’s economy.
