KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has announced that the upcoming fiscal year’s policy, program, and budget will prioritize the concerns of underprivileged classes and regions that lag behind in national development indicators.

Speaking at the 10th full meeting of the CPN (Maoist Centre)’s parliamentary party, Chairman Prachanda shared his commitment to crafting the new budget based on past experiences.

He emphasized that the policy, program, and budget would center on agendas of good governance, social justice, and prosperity, with a focus on uplifting the underprivileged.

“Maoist Centre ministers are directed to engage with lawmakers and gather their feedback to inform the budgetary process,” stated Prachanda, as quoted by Maoist Centre’s chief whip, Hitraj Pandey.

The PM stressed the importance of uplifting communities in Madhes, areas surrounding the Postal Highway, Karnali, Dalits, and oppressed communities.

He urged lawmakers to provide feedback aimed at boosting production growth, creating employment, and soliciting recommendations from experts across various sectors.

During the meeting, Maoist Centre lawmakers expressed the need for the new budget to address people’s expectations within the constraints of limited resources.

Chief Whip Pandey further noted that the meeting resolved to streamline the upcoming parliamentary session for effectiveness and ensure the passage of bills through thematic committees.
