SARLAHI: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has affirmed his commitment to ensuring the dignity and socioeconomic development of the Madhesi people.

Speaking at a mass meeting in Balara, Sarhali, to welcome various individuals to the CPN (Maoist Centre), the PM and Maoist Centre Chairman expressed confidence in the growing public awareness and commitment to the liberation of Madhes.

Highlighting his government’s efforts, PM Dahal stated that addressing the issues faced by usury victims and those deprived of citizenship has been a top priority.

He reiterated his commitment to addressing Madhesi concerns in the upcoming fiscal year, with the budget prioritizing Madhesi agendas.

The PM emphasized the importance of irrigation and electrification drives in the Tarai region, underscoring that productivity cannot increase without adequate irrigation.

“Ensuring irrigation supply in Madhes is my foremost priority,” added PM Dahal.

Expressing concern over the recent spate of fires across the country, the PM pledged relief assistance to fire victims, announcing a government decision to provide Rs 50,000 per household for immediate relief.

During the event, numerous party leaders and cadres from Nepali Congress, CPN (UML), Janata Samajwadi Party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Janamat Party, and other political parties joined the Maoist Centre.

Prior to the mass meeting, the PM inaugurated the newly constructed building of Janata Namuna Secondary School in Balara, Gadhiya Dumariya Municipality, Sarlahi.
