KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has decided to provide Rs. 1 million in support to the victims affected by the fire in Ward No. 6 of Matihani Municipality in Mahottari district.

According to spokesperson Navin Mahar, the Metropolitan Disaster Management Committee has decided to provide support for relief and rehabilitation of the individuals and families affected by the fire incident.

The allocated amount will be deposited into the municipality’s account today, as per preparations made by the metropolitan city.

The fire in Jarlahawa Tole started on April 24 and affected 91 thatched houses and 9 semi-permanent houses, destroying around 100 houses.

Consequently, 555 individuals were affected, along with the loss of five goats and two pigs due to the fire.
