KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has permitted to mobilize the army for the by-elections to be held on Saturday.
Based on the recommendation of the National Security Council meeting held on April 22, President Poudel has authorized the deployment of the army for the upcoming by-elections in Ilam Constituency No. 2 and Bajhang 1.
This decision aligns with the proposal made by the Cabinet regarding army deployment for the elections, as per Article 66, Clause 2 of the Constitution.
The by-elections in Ilam Constituency No. 2 and Bajhang 1(1) are scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 27.
