KATHMANDU- The Election Commission (EC) has assessed that the byelections held in Chitwan-2, Bara-2, and Tanahu-1 on Sunday concluded peacefully.
Issuing a press release on Sunday evening, the joint spokesperson of the Commission Surya Prasad Aryal said that the voting was completed peacefully and enthusiastically in all three constituencies.
He estimated the average voter turnout to be around 60 percent in all constituencies. However, the details of the vote are being entered into the information system of the commission, according to the commission.
According to the commission, Bara-2 has around 64 percent voting, Chitwan 63, and Tanahu 53 percent.
The local administration and the office of the Chief Electoral Officer have already prepared for the counting of votes.
According to the Commission, after the collection of ballot boxes, the counting of votes will be done at the Education Training Center in Bara-2, Kalaiya, FNCCI Hall in Chitwan, and District Coordination Committee premises in Damauli, Tanahu.
It is estimated that the ballot boxes will be collected in Bara by 8 pm, while it is estimated that the ballot boxes will be collected by 10 pm in Chitwan and 11 pm in Tanahu.
