The issue of transitional justice should not be delayed: President Nepal

KATHMANDU- Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that there should be no delay in finalizing the issue of transitional justice.

Speaking at a tea party organized by the Nepali Congress Party on Saturday, President Nepal said that there should be no delay in finalizing the issues related to transitional justice.

He said that the rest of the work should have been completed at the same pace as the peace process was started after ending the war, but that has not happened.

Noting that there should be no delay in resolving the issue, he said that when the Secretary General of the United Nations visits Nepal, he should send a positive message.

He said, ‘In fact, it is too late. As we were successful in ending the war in a very short period of time and bringing it into the peace process or political mainstream. In the same way, all the issues related to it, all the issues of conflict management, all the issues related to transitional justice should have been resolved quickly. It has been delayed. It should not be too late now. At this time when the Secretary General of the United Nations is coming, we should send a positive message.’

President Nepal mentioned that the old political parties have been tested in various tests and said that they are ready to be tested again.
