KATHMANDU: In a resolute call to action, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ who also serves as the Chairman of the National Development-Related-Problem Resolution Committee (NDRPRC), has amplified the fight against corruption and the pursuit of robust governance.
He fervently conveyed that these responsibilities extend beyond the central government, embracing the entire fabric of the nation, including state and local entities.
The Prime Minister’s impassioned plea for an all-encompassing campaign to uphold transparent governance echoed during the 51st session of the NDRPRC, a high-profile assembly held at the venerable Singha Darbar on a recent Monday afternoon.
With the fervor of a national mandate, Prime Minister Dahal delineated that the task of nurturing virtuous governance practices cannot be confined to any single tier of authority.
Rather, it should weave into the ethos of every administrative stratum, resonating with state governments, local municipalities, and even individual citizens. As corruption gnaws at the foundations of progress, the Prime Minister’s insistence on spreading the vigor of this anti-corruption movement aims to fortify Nepal’s collective pursuit of development.
The Prime Minister’s message was a call to arms, a rallying cry for a sweeping revolution that champions honesty and accountability. “Our strides to curtail corruption and foster good governance, pioneered by the federal government, need to be replicated at the provincial and local echelons. We must establish a dual mechanism of recognition and repercussions, nurturing a culture that lauds ethical conduct and chastises misdemeanors. This ethos shall inspire a rejuvenated spirit within our society, replacing pessimism with optimism,” asserted the Prime Minister, as he envisaged a transformed national sentiment.
His appeal was underscored by a fervent desire to obliterate despair and catalyze hope, igniting a new chapter for Nepal’s progress.
The Prime Minister concluded his address by beseeching attendees to prioritize this pivotal mission, thereby reflecting the gravity of the situation and the compelling need for concerted action.
