KATHMANDU-The Patan High Court has ordered the release of the former captain of the Nepali national cricket team, Sandeep Lamichhane, on bail. He was accused of raping a minor.
Sandeep filed a petition in the Patan High Court against the order of the Kathmandu District Court to keep him in custody and proceed with the proceedings in the rape case.
On Thursday, in the same application, a joint bench of Justice Dhruba Raj Nanda and Ramesh Dhakal gave the orders to release Lamichhane on bail.
Lamichhane’s lawyer Saroj Ghimire said that the court ordered him to be released on a bond of Rs 20 lakhs.
