NMA to halt all health services on Sunday

KATHMANDU: In protest against manhandling of doctors on Friday, the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has decided to halt all health services, except emergency ones, in all health institutions across the country on Sunday.
A meeting of the NMA held on Saturday decided to halt all services in protest of the manhandling of a doctor by police during President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s carcade on Friday.
Dr. Zenith Singh of the National Trauma Center was injured when police manhandled him on Friday.
During President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s carcade, police thrashed Dr. Singh.
The NMA, in a statement, has raised serious concern over the practice of giving hard times to the general people in the name of the VIP movement in a democratic system.
