Nepal sends 22 tons of relief material to Turkey

KATHMANDU- The Nepalese government has dispatched the first shipment of over 22 tons of relief materials containing medicines, medical equipment, warm clothing, and other basic necessities for Turkey’s earthquake victims.

Following the devastating earthquake that struck Turkiye on Feb 6, the government decided to send relief materials to assist with relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Earlier on Feb 8, Foreign Minister Dr. Bimala Rai Paudyal expressed deep condolences to the people and government of Turkey for the damage caused by the earthquake in a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, and stated that the government of Nepal is ready to provide all possible solidarity support.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed gratitude to the relevant government agencies, private sector, and humanitarian organizations for providing relief materials, as well as Turkish Airlines for providing transportation.
