Ministry’s call to doctors and health workers to return to treatment services

Kathmandu- In protest against the beating of doctors by the police, the Nepal Physicians’ Association has closed all health institutions across the country today, except for emergencies.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari on her way back from addressing the Parliament meeting on Friday, the police said that the senior orthopedic surgeon of the National Trauma Center, Dr. Doctors and health workers including Janithlal Singh were charged with batons and injured.
In opposition to this, the association has decided to close all other health institutions and hospitals, except for emergencies, in all government and non-government, private, cooperative health institutions, hospitals, private and government medical colleges, institutions and other services across the country.
Likewise, the Ministry of Health and Population has requested the Nepal Medical Association to withdraw the protest program and engage in the regular work of health treatment. Ministry spokesman Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari issued a statement on Saturday and said that attention has been drawn to the Nepal Doctors Association.
