Maoist Center calls for diplomatic dialogue over China’s recent map release

KATHMANDU: The CPN-Maoist Center has called for a diplomatic discussion to address Nepal’s concerns arising from China’s recent release of a map that notably omits Nepali territory.

During a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Paris Danda on Friday, Vice Chairman and Spokesperson of the Maoist Center, Agni Prasad Sapkota, emphasized the need for a diplomatic approach to address the issues raised by the new map released by China.

Sapkota remarked, “Engaging in diplomatic dialogue is essential to understand why Nepal’s territory is not included in China’s new map and to address other significant concerns.”

The new map released by China has sparked controversy as it excludes Nepal’s new map, which encompasses Nepali lands such as Kalapani, Lipulek, and Limpiyadhura.

Sapkota also mentioned that the matter would be on the agenda during Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s upcoming visit to China.

” Prime Minister and our party Chairman Prachanda will soon embark on a visit to China. This provides an opportunity for discussion. The government should maintain transparency and convey its stance clearly to the public,” Sapkota emphasized.
