Kathmandu University Hosts Successful Grand Finale of Hult Prize

Kathmandu, Kathmandu University hosted the grand finale of the Hult Prize in association with IEC College of Art and Fashion on 26th February 2023 at the CV Raman Auditorium in Dhulikhel.
The event was the biggest on-campus event held in Nepal with an attendance of over 1000. Mr Saurabh Jyoti, the Chairperson of Honda, was the chief guest of the event.
The event was also honored with special guest Pashupati Dev Pandey, President of Garment Association Nepal (GAN) along with Professor Dr Tshering Lama, the Executive Director of Idea Studio Nepal, Professor Dr Achyut Wagle, the Registrar of Kathmandu University, Associate Professor Dr Sushil Shrestha, Associate Director of Student Welfare Directorate (SWD) of Kathmandu University and also the Advisor of Hult Prize KU, and many other young and aspiring entrepreneurs of Nepal.
Five finalist teams of Kathmandu University pitched their business ideas on the theme “Redesigning Fashion” in front of a group of adept judges, including Mr Sabin Bhandari, Founder of Butta Nepal, Mr Kiran Timsina, Co-founder of UG Cakes, Ms Nikita Acharya, Co-founder of UG Cakes, Ms Anu Shrestha, Founder of Kalisto Designs, Ms Prachi Agrawal, Executive Director of Kkoncepts, Mr Suraj Raj Pandey, Co-founder of FiBro, and Ms Shailaja Ahikari, MD of IEC Group Nepal.
Out of the five finalist teams, team Revibe secured the first position, and team EcoAims secured the second. The winning team will be directly accelerated to one of the quarterfinals of the Hult Prize, which will happen in 8 different cities around the globe.

The Hult Prize is a global social entrepreneurship competition that challenges students to solve the world’s most pressing social and environmental problems.
