{"id":3157,"date":"2026-01-03T13:41:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-03T13:41:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nepalinewshub.com\/?p=3157"},"modified":"2026-01-03T13:41:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-03T13:41:19","slug":"six-communist-parties-announce-boycott-of-upcoming-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nepalinewshub.com\/?p=3157","title":{"rendered":"Six communist parties announce boycott of upcoming election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>KATHMANDU:<\/strong> Six communist parties have announced that they will boycott the election scheduled for Falgun 21 (March 5), branding it \u201canti-people\u201d and against public interest.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was taken at a joint meeting of smaller communist factions held in Kupondole on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The parties concluded that the forthcoming election does not serve the interests of the people and therefore agreed on a collective boycott.<\/p>\n<p>The parties declaring the boycott are the Revolutionary Communist Party of Nepal led by Mohan Baidya, CPN (Bahumat), Scientific Socialist Communist Party, Nepal Communist Party Nepal, Nepal Communist Party, and the Socialist Communist Party Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>All six parties stated that the election being conducted by the current interim government led by Sushila Karki would not benefit the general public.<\/p>\n<p>The joint meeting also termed the interim government a \u201cpuppet\u201d administration and demanded its immediate dissolution. In a joint statement issued after the meeting, the parties said, \u201cWe are committed to dismissing the existing anti-people, undemocratic, and puppet Sushila government and moving forward toward the formation of an independent joint people\u2019s government and a people-oriented constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement further claimed that the current power structure fails to represent the people in a genuine manner.<\/p>\n<p>The six-party alliance also announced plans to launch joint protest programs aimed at establishing an \u201cindependent joint people\u2019s government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the decision to boycott the election, the six-party front has signaled that it may intensify street protests against the government in the coming days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KATHMANDU: Six communist parties have announced that they will boycott the election scheduled for Falgun 21 (March 5), branding it \u201canti-people\u201d and against public interest.
