KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been adjourned without sitting after giving notice.
The main opposition party is calling for an investigation into the current one quintal gold smuggling case.
Similarly, Nepali Congress MP Dr. Sunil Sharma has demanded that the Home Minister and Finance Minister quit on ethical grounds. MP Sharma has also said that the two ministers will resign and that if all of the perpetrators of the gold affair are not arrested, they will begin a hunger death in Parliament.
Today’s meeting has been adjourned with notice since it appears that holding the meeting in such a circumstance would be inconvenient.
Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire postponed Monday’s meeting till 1:00 p.m. Tuesday due to opposition and ruling party MPs, including UML.
