HoR meeting adjourned till Aug 20 after the obstruction of the opposition

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting has been adjourned to Bhadra 3 (Aug 20) due to the main opposition party CPN-UML blockage.

Sunil Sharma, a Nepali Congress MP who was arrested by the CIB during the meeting, told the Parliament about his arrest, and UML MPs disrupted the House’s usual processes by raising chants.

UML raised slogans in the parliament demanding the formation of a high-level commission to investigate the gold smuggling case.

After the UML objected, Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire adjourned the Parliament sitting till 1 p.m. on Bhadra 3 (Aug 20).
