KATHMANDU: The Kantipur branch of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists has been suspended.
Central member Ramakrishna Adhikari said that the central committee of the federation decided to suspend the foundation branch on Friday.
The branch led by Anil Giri was suspended because its position in the Kantipur journalists’ struggle was not in favor of the working class and it did not respect the central committee.
The federation has also declared that the demonstration will continue in Kantipur from Kartik 18 (Nov 4) to Mangsir 10 (Nov 26).
The federation stopped its own branch on the same day as the Kantipur administration set a deadline for voluntary retirement. In general, in any institution, the branch makes requests and contacts the center only if it is not with the administration.
