KATHMANDU: The National Examination Board has announced this year’s class 12 results.
Chair of the National Examination Board, Dr. Mahashram Sharma informed that the results of the examination which started on Baisakh 26 and ended on Jestha 5 have been published.
According to Sharma, just 51.91 percent of the 448,000 regular and upgraded pupils were graded (passed). Similarly, 49.09 percent are ungraded.
According to Sharma, this result has increased by 3 percentage points since last year.
According to the board, this year, around 467,389 students from 1,457 examination centres across the country participated in the Class 12 examination. This year, more than 56,000 students participated in the grade increase test.
It is arranged that students will get a grade seat only if they get minimum 35% marks in the theoretical side of each subject.
Last year, only 48 percent of students in class 12 secured grade seats. Among them, up to 2 subjects are NAG (non-graded) immediately and the remaining 56 thousand have taken the grade increase exam this year.
By amending the letter grading guidelines, it has been arranged that the grade increase exam can be given only in the subject in which there is NG. Earlier, if NG came in more than two subjects, it was compulsory to take the exam in all subjects the next year.
